SUMMARY:IT/Cyber Risk & Resilience Management by Design\, NEW YORK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nOrganizations are complex: from technological advancements to regulatory changes and global expansions\, ensuring robust information security is a daunting task for any GRC professional. \n\n\n\nIn this workshop with renowned GRC pundit Michael Rasmussen\, you’ll get the blueprint you need to achieve an effective IT risk management strategy in a dynamic business and risk environment. You’ll learn strategies and techniques to apply to your whole organization and as part of your broader GRC strategy. \n\n\n\nHere’s what you can expect to gain:\n\n\n\n\nA comprehensive understanding of IT GRC within the broader context of business performance and strategy.\n\n\n\nKnowledge of how to integrate IT GRC management processes seamlessly into your organization’s operations.\n\n\n\nThe ability to define an information architecture that provides 360° situational awareness of IT GRC in alignment with business objectives.\n\n\n\nA deep dive into the technology components necessary to streamline risk and compliance management across your organization.\n\n\n\n\nWho should come along?\n\n\n\n\nIT GRC managers and officers\n\n\n\nBusiness managers who want to up their game in IT GRC\n\n\n\nExecutives and governance personnel overseeing IT GRC\n\n\n\nAudit personnel providing assurance on IT security and GRC\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Abstract:\n\n\n\nOrganizations are complex. Exponential growth and change in technology\, vulnerabilities\, regulations\, globalization\, distributed operations\, changing processes\, competitive velocity\, business relationships\, legacy technology\, and business data expose organizations of all sizes. Keeping this complexity and change in sync is a significant challenge for information security professionals. Executives constantly react to risk appearing around them and fail to actively manage and understand the interrelationship of risk across the organization\, particularly information security risk\, as it permeates business operations\, processes\, transactions\, and relationships in the digital world. Risk Management maturity increases as the ability to connect\, understand\, analyze\, and monitor interrelationships and underlying patterns of performance\, risk\, and compliance across the business grows. \n\n\n\nOrganizations require complete situational and holistic awareness of information risk management across operations\, processes\, relationships\, systems\, transactions\, and data to see the big picture of risk and its impact on performance and strategy. Risk management fails when risk issues are addressed as a system of parts that do not integrate and work as a collective whole. Information security cannot be managed in isolation. Decentralized\, disconnected\, and distributed processes of the past catch the organization off guard to information risk and expose the organization. The interconnectedness of information and technology underpinning all aspects of an organization’s operations requires the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to be a foundational and integrated approach to risk management across the organization. Understanding and managing risk in today’s environment requires a new paradigm in managing the interconnections and relationships of risk\, particularly information risk. CISOs need to stay on top of their game by monitoring information security risk to their organization both internally (e.g.\, operations\, processes\, systems\, data) and externally (e.g.\, threat\, competitive\, legal\, geographic environments) to stay competitive in today’s economy. \n\n\n\nOrganizations must understand information security risk and make risk-informed business decisions to manage effectively manage risk across the enterprise. This workshop provides a blueprint for attendees on effective IT risk management strategies in a dynamic business and risk environment. Attendees will learn IT risk management strategies and techniques that can be applied across the organization and as part of broader GRC strategies. Learning is done through lectures\, collaboration with peers\, and workshop tasks. \n\n\n\nObjectives of the workshop:\n\n\n\nAttendees will take back to their organization’s approaches to address: \n\n\n\n\nIT Risk Management Strategy. Understand IT risk in the context of business performance\, strategy\, objectives\, culture\, and values.\n\n\n\nIT Risk Management Processes. The IT risk management processes integrated into the organization and its operations flow from the strategy. Good IT risk management is done in the rhythm of the business.\n\n\n\nIT Risk Management Information Architecture. Defining an information architecture that enables IT risk management strategy and processes by providing 360° situational awareness of IT risk in the context of business strategy and operations\n\n\n\nIT Risk Management Technology Architecture. The necessary technology components are needed to integrate diverse and distributed risk and compliance management roles and IT risk management into the organization’s operations.\n\n\n\n\nBenefits to attendees:\n\n\n\n\nHolistic awareness of risk. There is defined risk taxonomy across the enterprise that structures and catalogs risk in the context of the organization and assigns accountability. A consistent process identifies risk and keeps the taxonomy current. Various risk frameworks are harmonized into an enterprise risk framework.\n\n\n\nRisk-intelligent decision-making. The organization has what it needs to make risk-intelligent business decisions. Risk strategy is integrated with organization strategy; it is an integral part of business responsibilities. Risk assessment is done in the context of business change and strategic planning\, and structured to complement the business lifecycle to help executives make effective decisions.\n\n\n\nAccountability of risk. Accountability and risk ownership are established features of risk management. Every risk\, at the enterprise and business-process level\, has clearly established owners. Risk is communicated to stakeholders\, and the organization’s track record should illustrate successful risk tolerance and management.\n\n\n\nMultidimensional risk analysis and planning. The organization has a range of risk analytics\, correlation and scenario analysis. Various qualitative and quantitative risk analysis techniques are in place and the organization has an understanding of historical loss to feed into analysis. Risk treatment plans — whether acceptance\, avoidance\, mitigation or transfer — are working and monitored for progress.\n\n\n\nVisibility of risk as it relates to performance and strategy. SUMMARY:Security & Audit 2024\, Denmark
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nAI\, OT\, NIS2 and many other abbreviations find their way into everyday life – which ones should we pay special attention to\, and which ones can we really equate with someone we already know? Get some of the answers at this year’s conference!Security & Audit 29 and 30 August 2024 \n\n\n\nNew technical terms and solutions flow into our society in a steady stream. Something is said to be landmark and epoch-making\, but is perhaps just ‘old wine in new bottles’\, while others turn out to have much greater influences than we had imagined. Thus\, there can be a tendency for something to be ‘counted up’ while other things are ‘counted down’. \n\n\n\nHere it may be appropriate not to base yourself on suppliers\, media or AI\, but on your own intelligence and common sense in investigating and assessing which will affect the company\, agency\, organization or situation you are in right now. Once these are identified\, the ‘why’\, ‘how’ and ‘when’ they will affect are important to consider for risk assessment and management. Assessment and prioritization of measures for risk reduction and monitoring can then be carried out on an informed basis and preferably taking into account that significant risk reduction can often occur with even relatively small efforts – as long as something is done. It is mostly better to act on a risk than to wait for a 100% solution that is often outdated by the time it is finally implemented. \n\n\n\nIn the process\, it is essential to have someone to spar with\, as well as facts and experiences that can put into perspective the challenges we constantly face in these situations. This is exactly what we in the conference committee see as our task to give you the opportunity. Presentations of what affects our work areas\, based on facts and experiences\, as well as a good\, solid network – both are necessary to be able to assess and prioritize ourselves without being influenced by the many voices that often have a different agenda. These vectors are now being used to emulate human intelligence and augment the human effort at scale to perform activities like regulatory research\, automate impact assessments\, and mitigate the design weakness of your compliance and risk documentation. We are a data-intelligence platform company on a mission to reduce your cost of compliance and decrease the risk of non-compliance. SUMMARY:Compliance Management by Design Workshop\, LONDON
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Summary\n\n\n\nOrganizations today operate in a field of ethical\, social\, regulatory\, and legal landmines. The daily headlines reveal an abundance of organizations that fail to comply with regulatory obligations. Corporate ethics is measured by what a corporation does and does not do when it thinks it can get away with something. Compliance and ethics management ultimately defines\, manages\, maintains\, and monitors corporate integrity. The era of artificial intelligence is also introducing new compliance and ethics challenges as well as opportunities. \n\n\n\nCompliance is not easy.\n\n\n\nToday’s organization is dynamic and constantly changing. The modern organization changes by the minute when new employees start\, the business enters new markets\, new facilities are opened\, new contracts with agents are created\, new products are introduced\, new business partner relationships are established\, new laws are put in place\, regulations are changed\, and the risk environment shifts impacting how business is conducted overall. \n\n\n\nYesterday’s compliance program no longer works. Boards desire a deeper understanding of how the organization addresses compliance\, whether its activities are effective\, and how they enhance shareholder value and provide assurance of the organization’s integrity. Oversight demands are rapidly changing the role of the compliance department to an active\, independent program that can manage and monitor compliance from the top down. The breadth and depth of compliance bearing down on companies today requires a robust compliance program operating in the context of integrated processes and information. This includes compliance to new areas like artificial intelligence\, but also how to leverage artificial intelligence to make compliance more efficient\, effective\, and agil. \n\n\n\nTo stay competitive\, organizations need a cohesive\, integrated strategy and processes for compliance supported by a structured information and technology architecture. This is compliance management by design.   \n\n\n\nThis workshop aims to provide a blueprint for attendees on effective compliance management in a dynamic business\, regulatory\, and risk environment. Attendees will learn compliance management strategies and processes that can be applied across the organization at an enterprise or department level.  \n\n\n\nObjectives of the workshop:\n\n\n\nAttendees will take back to their organization’s approaches to address:\n\n\n\n\nEffectively managing compliance\n\n\n\nUnderstand the challenges and pitfalls of managing compliance\n\n\n\nAchieve success by capitalizing on agility while maintaining compliance\n\n\n\nFacilitate ongoing monitoring of compliance\n\n\n\nDefine a compliance management lifecycle for managing and monitoring compliance\n\n\n\nEstablish compliance management ownership and accountability\n\n\n\n\n\nProvide risk and resilience management process consistency\n\n\n\nCommunicate effectively with employees and stakeholders on matters of compliance\n\n\n\nTrack critical compliance workflow and tasks\n\n\n\nDeliver effective compliance governance and assurance to the board of directors\, regulators\, and stakeholders\n\n\n\nMonitor metrics to establish effectiveness or compliance management\n\n\n\nIdentify and resolve compliance issues\n\n\n\n\nAgenda:\n\n\n\nPart 1: Compliance Management by Design\n\n\n\nWhy Compliance Management Matters\n\n\n\n\nCompliance in Disarray: how organizations mismanage compliance\n\n\n\nCompliance Exposure: how mismanaged compliance expose the organization to risk\n\n\n\nCurrent drivers & trends pressuring organizations in compliance management\n\n\n\nDifferent ways organizations approach compliance management\n\n\n\nWhat Effective Compliance Management Achieves: Compliance role in governance\, risk management\, and compliance\n\n\n\n\nPart 2:  Compliance Governance\n\n\n\nBlueprint for Effective Compliance Management\n\n\n\n\nCompliance Governance Committee: bringing together the range of compliance management roles and responsibilities in the organization\n\n\n\nCompliance Management Charter: defining a structure to govern compliance across the organization\n\n\n\nHow to Develop a Compliance Management Strategic Plan\n\n\n\n\nPart 3: Compliance Management Lifecycle\n\n\n\nManaging Compliance in Context of Business and Regulatory Change\n\n\n\n\nCompliance obligation identification\n\n\n\nOngoing compliance and business context monitoring\n\n\n\nCompliance communications & attestations\n\n\n\nCompliance monitoring & assessment\n\n\n\nCompliance forms & approvals\n\n\n\nCompliance metrics & reporting\n\n\n\nCompliance evaluation\, benchmarking & assurance\n\n\n\n\nPart 4: Compliance Management Architecture\n\n\n\nEnabling Information & Technology Management for Compliance Management\n\n\n\n\nCompliance Management Information Architecture: Blueprint for Managing Compliance Content and Related Data\n\n\n\nTypes of compliance management information and how it integrates into compliance processes\n\n\n\nComponents and requirements for a compliance information architecture\n\n\n\nCompliance Management Technology Architecture: Blueprint for Enabling Compliance Management Processes with Technology\n\n\n\nKinds of compliance management technologies and what best serves the organization\n\n\n\nCapabilities and requirements of compliance management platforms\n\n\n\nCompliance Management Business Case: Articulating the Value of Effective Compliance Management\n\n\n\n\nDay Agenda:\n\n\n\n09:00amBreakfast and Registration09:30amPart 1: Compliance Management by Design Why Compliance Management Matters11:00amMid Morning Break (Biscuits\, Tea & Coffee)11:30amPart 2: Compliance Governance Blueprint for Effective Compliance Management12:30pmBuffet Lunch13:30pmPart 3: Compliance Management Lifecycle Managing Compliance in Context of Business and Regulatory Change 14.30pmMid Afternoon Break (Biscuits\, Tea & Coffee)15:00pmPart 4: Compliance Management Architecture Enabling Information & Technology Management for Compliance Management16:30pmDrinks Reception & Canapes18:30pmEnd of Day\n\n\n\nBreakfast\, lunch\, drinks & canapes provided. \n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Instructor\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on enterprise GRC strategy and processes supported by robust information and technology architectures.  With 30+ years of experience\, Michael helps organizations improve GRC strategy and processes supported by the correct GRC technology architecture.
