SUMMARY:Third-Party Risk Management by Design Workshop\, London
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThe structures and realities of business today have changed. Traditional brick-and-mortar business is outdated: physical buildings and conventional employees no longer define the organization. The modern organization is an interconnected web of relationships\, interactions\, and transactions that span traditional business boundaries. Layers of relationships go beyond traditional employees to include suppliers\, vendors\, outsourcers\, service providers\, contractors\, subcontractors\, consultants\, temporary workers\, agents\, brokers\, dealers\, intermediaries\, partners\, and more. Complexity grows as these interconnected relationships\, processes\, transactions\, and systems nest themselves in intricacies\, such as deep supply chains and subcontracting relationships. Roaming the hallways of an organization means crossing paths with contractors\, consultants\, temporary workers\, and more. Business today relies and thrives on third-party relationships; this is the extended enterprise.  \n\n\n\nIn this context\, organizations struggle to govern their third-party relationships and too often manage risk and compliance within those relationships in silos that fail to see the big picture of risk exposure and the impact on the relationship’s objectives. Risk and compliance challenges do not stop at organizational boundaries. This is particularly true in this new era of ESG in the extended enterprise. An organization can face reputational and economic disaster by establishing or maintaining the wrong business relationships or allowing good business relationships to sour because of weak risk governance. Third-party problems are the organization’s problems and directly impact the brand and reputation\, increasing exposure to risk and compliance matters. When questions of delivery\, business practice\, ethics\, privacy\, safety\, quality\, human rights\, resiliency\, corruption\, security\, and the environment arise\, the organization is held accountable\, and it must ensure that third-party partners behave appropriately.  \n\n\n\nDissociated data\, systems\, processes\, and a myopic risk vision leaves the organization with fragments of the truth that fail to see the big picture of third-party performance\, risk\, and compliance across the enterprise and how it supports its strategy and objectives. The organization needs to have holistic visibility and situational awareness of third-party risk across the enterprise. The complexity of business\, intricacy\, and interconnectedness of third-party risk data requires that the organization implement a third-party risk management strategy.  \n\n\n\nThis workshop aims to provide a blueprint for attendees on effective third-party risk management in a dynamic business\, regulatory\, ESG\, and risk environment. Attendees will learn third-party risk management strategies and processes that can be applied across the organization at either an enterprise or a department level. Learning is done through lectures\, collaboration with peers\, and workshop tasks. \n\n\n\nObjectives of workshop:\n\n\n\nAttendees will take back to their organization approaches to address: \n\n\n\n\nEffectively managing due diligence and third-party risk.\n\n\n\nUnderstand the challenges and pitfalls of managing third-party risk\n\n\n\nAchieve success capitalizing on third-party relationships while maintaining compliance\n\n\n\nFacilitate ongoing monitoring of third-party partners.\n\n\n\nDefine a third party management lifecycle for managing and monitoring third party relationships\n\n\n\nEstablish third party management ownership and accountability\n\n\n\nProvide third party management process consistency\n\n\n\nCommunicate effectively with third parties on matters of risk and compliance\n\n\n\nTrack critical workflow and tasks internally and with third party relationships\n\n\n\nDeliver effective third party governance and assurance to the board of directors\, regulators\, and stakeholders\n\n\n\nMonitor metrics to establish effectiveness or third party management\n\n\n\nIdentify and resolve issues with third parties\n\n\n\nMap third party relationships to objectives\, risks\, controls\, issues\, and other GRC areas\n\n\n\n\nBenefits to attendees:\n\n\n\n\nUnderstand a top-down as well as a bottom-up approach to third party management\n\n\n\nImplement third party management in the context of business strategy\, process\, and operations\n\n\n\nExplore third party management architecture models and how they apply to your organization\n\n\n\nDiscover various third party assessment and monitoring techniques and how they apply to your business\n\n\n\nDevelop an third party information architecture that aligns with business operations and processes\n\n\n\nEffectively communicate and gather attestation on third parties across your organizations\n\n\n\n\nWho should attend?\n\n\n\n\nProcurement Professionals\n\n\n\nSupply Chain Professionals\n\n\n\nEthics & Compliance Professionals\n\n\n\nRisk Management Professionals\n\n\n\nIT Security Professionals\n\n\n\nLegal Professionals\n\n\n\nEnvironmental\, Health & Safety Professionals\n\n\n\nCorporate Social Responsibility & Accountability Professionals\n\n\n\nIndividuals with third party management\, ownership\, or oversight responsibilities\n\n\n\n\nAgenda:\n\n\n\nPart 1: Third Party Management by Design\n\n\n\nWhy Third Party Management Matters\n\n\n\n\nThird Parties in Disarray: how organizations mismanage third parties\n\n\n\nThird Party Exposure: how mismanaged third parties expose the organization to risk\n\n\n\nCurrent drivers & trends pressuring organizations in third party management\n\n\n\nDifferent ways organizations approach third party management\n\n\n\nWhat Effective Third Party Management Achieves: third party management’s role in governance\, risk management\, and compliance\n\n\n\n\nPart 2: Third Party Governance\n\n\n\nBlueprint for Effective Third Party Management\n\n\n\n\nThird Party Governance Committee: bringing together the range of third party management roles and responsibilities in the organization\n\n\n\nThird Party Management Charter: defining a structure to govern third party relationships\n\n\n\nHow to Develop a Third Party Management Strategic Plan\n\n\n\n\nPart 3: Third Party Management Lifecycle\n\n\n\nManaging Third Parties from Onboard to Offboarding\n\n\n\n\nThird party identification & onboarding\n\n\n\nOngoing context monitoring\n\n\n\nThird party communications & attestations\n\n\n\nThird party monitoring & assessment\n\n\n\nThird party forms & approvals\n\n\n\nThird party metrics & reporting\n\n\n\nThird party re-evaluation and offboarding\n\n\n\n\nPart 4: Third Party Management Architecture\n\n\n\nEnabling Information & Technology Management of Third Party Relationships\n\n\n\n\nThird Party Management Information Architecture: Blueprint for Managing Third Party Content and Related Data\n\nTypes of third party management information and how it integrates into third party processes\n\n\n\nComponents and requirements for a third party information architecture\n\n\n\n\n\nThird Party Management Technology Architecture: Blueprint for Enabling Third Party Management Processes with Technology\n\nKinds of third party management technologies and what best serves the organization\n\n\n\nCapabilities and requirements of third party management platforms\n\n\n\n\n\nThird Party Management Business Case: Articulating the Value of Effective Third Party Management\n\nDefining a business case and value of third party management platforms\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Instructor\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. SUMMARY:3 - Terminating: Risk Management in the Vendor Relationship Lifecycle
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThis session is the third in a three-part webinar series on risk management through the life cycle of the vendor relationship. In this webinar\, we focus on terminating a third-party relationship.Goodbyes are difficult; most humans tend to avoid them. So\, it is no surprise that the most neglected part of the vendor relationship life cycle is terminating a relationship. Even if the relationship was a good one and served its purpose\, termination should not be approached haphazardly. Rather\, the terms of offboarding should be defined in contracts and controls much earlier in the relationship—during the onboarding process. The last thing an organization wants at offboarding is to look for termination provisions and notice they’re missing!Join this webinar and learn the four steps to terminating a relationship: 1) contract and security policy review\, 2) property and data disposition\, 3) disposition of access\, and 4) security audits and onsite inspection.Learning Objectives:  \n\n\n\n\nRecognize why companies often avoid terminating a vendor relationship that is no longer serving its purpose\n\n\n\nIdentify how contracts and controls included in the onboarding process will help if it becomes necessary to terminate a relationship\n\n\n\nRecall the four steps to terminating a relationship\n\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Speaker\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThird Party Risk Management as an integral part of Enterprise Resilience\n\n\n\nIn an uncertain world\, resilience is not only key to respond to critical events and safeguard assets –with a state-of-the-art resilience strategy\, an enterprise can even gain a competitive advantage over its competition. In our increasingly complex business environments\, organizations struggle to deal with highly complex events and the right response strategies and measures.  \n\n\n\nThis is even more the case when having to manage the risks associated with a multitude of third parties\, like vendors\, suppliers\, contractors and other business partners. Since the early detection of risks and effective evaluation of their business impact is crucial\, risk management is a key player in shaping corporate resilience.  \n\n\n\nOur concept of trusted governance creates a unified framework that ensures consistency across relevant subsystems\, enables close collaboration\, and ensures more efficient assessments that generate high-quality outputs.  \n\n\n\nFinally\, when linked to corporate performance management\, risk management can act as a value driver for the entire company giving you the confidence you need to manage your business successfully:  \n\n\n\n\nEnsuring transparency over the “real” risk situation \n\n\n\nHelping to identify and mitigate risks at an early stage \n\n\n\nProviding an improved basis for corporate decisions through simulating possible outcomes \n\n\n\nOptimizing performance through risk-adjusted performance indicators \n\n\n\n\nBased on a real-life use case our experts will demonstrate how “uncertainty” can turn into “business confidence”. \n\n\n\nThe GRC 20/20 Speaker\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. SUMMARY:2 - Monitoring: Risk Management in the Vendor Relationship Lifecycle
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThis session is the second in a three-part webinar series on risk management through the life cycle of the vendor relationship.Often organizations conduct due diligence when onboarding a third party (e.g.\, vendor\, supplier\, service provider\, consultant) yet fail to monitor security throughout the entire life cycle of the relationship. Ongoing monitoring is critical to protect your dynamic organization as there is constant change in regulations\, risk\, internal business processes\, employees\, and technology. Likewise\, third parties are constantly changing. Are your third parties current with controls and processes? What might have been a good relationship a year or two ago may not be a fit today. Businesses also face increased risk as their third-party network grows. Previously\, it was predominantly IT vendors that posed an information security risk; however\, in today’s interconnected digital economy\, even the smart microwave in your breakroom is a potential threat. Join this webinar and learn about the five necessities of ongoing monitoring: 1) ongoing/continuous due diligence\, 2) periodic attestations\, 3) reputation monitoring\, 4) issue reporting and management\, and 5) audits and onsite inspections.Learning Objectives:  \n\n\n\n\nIdentify how to protect your dynamic organization as it undergoes changes in regulations\, risk\, internal business processes\, employees\, and technology\n\n\n\nRecognize how today’s interconnected digital economy increases the risk for businesses\n\n\n\nList the five necessities of ongoing monitoring\n\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Speaker\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. SUMMARY:1 - Onboarding: Risk Management in the Vendor Relationship Lifecycle
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThis session is the first in a three-part webinar series on risk management through the life cycle of the vendor relationship. In this webinar\, we focus on steps to achieve a proper and friction-free onboarding process. Traditional brick-and-mortar businesses\, with physical buildings and conventional employees\, no longer define organizations. The modern organization is an interconnected mess of complex relationships where over half of the organization’s “insiders” are no longer traditional employees but third parties such as contractors\, consultants\, temporary workers\, outsourcers\, service providers\, and vendors. Understanding third-party risks and their potential impact on business operations\, reputation\, and data is critical as ultimately a business is responsible for its third parties.Join this webinar to learn an agile approach to bringing the right third parties on board while ensuring security is in place before sharing data and systems. This session will cover the four steps to onboarding: 1) purpose and identification\, 2) qualification and security screening\, 3) contracting and negotiating\, and 4) registration and final onboarding.Learning Objectives:  \n\n\n\n\nRecognize how the traditional brick-and-mortar business is evolving in today’s interconnected world\n\n\n\nList some of the third parties that can potentially pose a risk to a business\n\n\n\nRecall how a business can bring the right third parties on board\, ensuring security is in place before sharing data and systems\n\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Speaker\n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. SUMMARY:2023 Buyers Guide: How to Purchase GRC Management Platforms
DESCRIPTION:Lacking an integrated view of Governance\, Risk Management\, & Compliance (GRC) results in business processes\, services\, employees\, and systems that behave like leaves blowing in the wind. Organizations need to develop\, nurture\, and mature a GRC management capability aligned with strategy\, performance\, and objectives that operate as a risk and control central nervous system. \n\n\n\nThis means maturing an integrated view of GRC management that automates and makes processes more efficient\, effective\, and agile. This in turn enables organizations to spend more time focusing on the analysis of risk in the context of the organization\, its strategy\, and objectives to enable agility\, resilience\, and integrity. Technology makes it easier to share data\, while still maintaining the independence of thought and action across the organization.  \n\n\n\nOrganizations need to be intelligent about what GRC management technologies they deploy. SUMMARY:2023 Buyers Guide: Third-Party Risk & Intelligence Solutions
DESCRIPTION:Traditional brick-and-mortar business is outdated: physical buildings and conventional employees no longer define the organization. The modern business depends on\, and is defined by\, the governance\, risk management\, and compliance of third-party relationships to ensure the organization can reliably achieve objectives\, manage uncertainty\, and act with integrity in each of its third-party relationships. \n\n\n\nA haphazard department and document-centric approach for third-party risk management compounds the problem and does not solve it. \n\n\n\nOrganizations need to address third-party risk with an integrated platform as well as have the right third-party risk intelligence content feeds to keep current on developments throughout the world and extended enterprise to manage the ecosystem of third-party relationships with real-time information about third-party performance\, risk\, and compliance and how it impacts the organization. \n\n\n\nIt is time for organizations to step back and implement third-party risk solutions and integrate third-party risk intelligence/content that delivers value to the business. This value can be measured in efficiency\, effectiveness\, and agility. A third-party risk management platform saves time and money and creates an environment where the organization can measure the effectiveness and efficiencies of resources. \n\n\n\nOrganizations need to be intelligent about what third-party risk technologies and intelligence services they deploy. SUMMARY:How Transurban built its best-in-class compliance program
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nOrganisations today operate in a field of ethical\, social\, regulatory\, environmental\, and legal landmines. Oversight demands are changing the role of the compliance department to an active\, independent program that can manage and monitor compliance across the business. \n\n\n\nMultinational toll road operator Transurban Group – which builds\, develops\, and manages road infrastructure across Australia\, the United States\, and Canada – found that its legacy compliance system couldn’t meet its needs in this changing environment. \n\n\n\nTogether with Protecht\, Transurban has implemented a solution that meets their core needs – and gone beyond. Transurban’s implementation of Protecht ERM won the Best in Class Compliance & Ethics Management Award at the 2023 GRC 20/20 Awards. \n\n\n\nJoin this webinar for an introduction from GRC Pundit Michael Rasmussen setting the compliance landscape in context\, followed by a discussion between Michael and Transurban’s Tracie Heyward on Transurban’s needs and the system they built. SUMMARY:Beyond Wishful Thinking: How to Create a Thriving Culture of Compliance
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nJoin MCO and Michael Rasmussen from GRC 20/20 for a webinar on growing and nurturing your firm’s culture of ethics and compliance. \n\n\n\nIt’s easy to talk about the need for a culture of compliance in theory\, but much harder to put it into practice in a way that’s pragmatic—and that can be evidenced to regulators. \n\n\n\nA focus on conduct and ethical culture isn’t just good for compliance. It’s good for business. Recent industry events including the FTX scandal and U.S. bank collapses have put into sharp focus the fact that addressing ethical breaches after they occur instead of taking a more proactive approach can have catastrophic consequences. \n\n\n\nJoin Michael Rasmussen from GRC 20/20 for a webinar on growing and nurturing your firm’s culture of ethics and compliance. Michael will offer practical guidance on how to execute\, including\, \n\n\n\n\nDriving awareness and understanding of ethical obligations across the organization\n\n\n\nDeveloping structure that embeds communication of obligations – and controls for when standards are breached\n\n\n\nDefining roles and obligations from the C-Suite to the front lines\n\n\n\nUnderstanding areas of focus for potential ethical missteps including personal trading\, gifts and entertainment\, outside business activities and more.\n\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 Analyst will be presenting at the event . . . \n\n\n\nMichael Rasmussen\n\n\n\nGRC 20/20 ResearchMichael Rasmussen – The GRC Pundit @ GRC 20/20 Research\, Michael Rasmussen is an internationally recognized pundit on governance\, risk management\, and compliance (GRC) – with specific expertise on the topics of GRC strategy\, process\, information\, and technology architectures and solutions. SUMMARY:Navigating Complexity & Chaos:Approaching Regulatory RequirementsAcross Jurisdictions with Control Automation
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER\n\n\n\n\nThe physicist Fritjof Capra stated: “The more we study the major problems of our time\, the more we come to realize that they cannot be understood in isolation. They are systemic problems\, which means that they are interconnected and interdependent.” \n\n\n\nOrganizations operate across jurisdictions and face a global barrage of regulatory compliance that impacts their internal control environments.
